Karim Rayani

Executive Chair & Chief Executive Officer

Karim Rayani is an entrepreneur, financier and mining executive with more than 20 years of experience in the global resource sector, specializing in mineral exploration, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and public company management. Throughout his career, he has focused on identifying, financing and advancing exploration-stage companies while creating long-term value for shareholders.

Mr. Rayani has extensive experience leading publicly listed resource companies through acquisitions, financings, exploration programs and corporate growth initiatives. He has built an extensive international network throughout North America, Europe and the Middle East.

As Executive Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Ibero Mining Corp., Mr. Rayani is responsible for the Company’s strategic direction, corporate development, capital markets activities and growth strategy. Under his leadership, Ibero Mining has assembled a highly prospective portfolio of gold and copper exploration assets in Portugal, including the flagship Borba 2 Gold-Copper Project.

Mr. Rayani is also the founder of R7 Investments and R7 Capital Ventures and is an active natural resource investor. Through these platforms, he invests in and advises public and private companies across the mining and natural resource sectors. He also serves on the boards of public and private enterprises. His experience spans corporate governance, business development, international project evaluation, investor relations and strategic partnerships.

Deepak Malhotra, Ph.D.

Director

Dr. Deepak Malhotra is a world-renowned metallurgist and mining executive with more than 50 years of experience in mineral processing, metallurgy, project evaluation and mine development. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mineral Processing and a Ph.D. in Mineral Economics.

Prior to founding his own metallurgical testing and consulting company in 1990, Dr. Malhotra held a variety of technical and management positions with AMAX Inc. His consulting company was merged with Forte Dynamics in 2022.

Throughout his career, Dr. Malhotra has been responsible for metallurgical testing, process design, flowsheet development and technical evaluations for mining projects around the world. He has played a key role in advancing more than 15 mining projects, including helping bring six projects into commercial production. He has also commercialized mineral processing plants with capital expenditures ranging from US$15 million to more than US$750 million.

Dr. Malhotra has extensive experience serving on the boards of publicly listed mining companies, where he has provided strategic oversight on technical, operational and corporate governance matters. He has served as a director of several public companies, including Texas Mineral Resources Corp., Blackrock Gold Corp., Canarc Resources Ltd. and Cardero Resource Corp.

He holds four patents, has published more than 60 technical articles and has edited several industry books. Dr. Malhotra has received several distinguished industry honours, including the Antoine M. Gaudin Award, the Arthur C. Daman Lifetime Achievement Award, the SME Fellow Award and the 2022 AIME James Douglas Gold Medal. (aimehq.org)

Dr. Malhotra is a Registered Member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration and continues to advise mining companies worldwide on metallurgy, project development, operational optimization and strategic growth.

Dr. Wazir Khan, Ph.D., M.Sc.

Director
Dr. Wazir Khan, a renowned exploration geologist with more than 30 years’ experience spanning multiple metallogenic districts including Au-Cu-Mo-Ag porphyries, Abitibi greenstone epithermal Au deposits-Cariboo gold belt. He has expertise in mineral exploration from greenfield and brownfield to feasibility studies in the mining sector. He holds a Ph.D. in economic geology and igneous petrology from University of Iowa, USA, M.Phil. in mineralogy from University of Baluchistan, and M.Sc. in mineralogy/petrology, from University of Peshawar, Pakistan. His career includes work with the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Geological Survey of Pakistan, Iowa Geological Survey, US, Noront Resources, Premier Gold Mines, Red Lake Gold Mines, Barkerville Gold Mines, Rich Copper Exploration and Advanced Gold Exploration. Dr. Khan has been a member of the team involved in early exploration work at Reko Dig Cu-Au porphyry deposit of Barrik Gold in Baluchistan, Pakistan, and early-stage exploration in discovery of Ring of Fire chromite, nickel, platinum, palladium, and zinc deposits in northern Ontario. He has supervised open pit mine operation of Barkerville Gold Mines at Bonanza Ledge mine in BC Cariboo gold belt, Key Lake and Hard Rock drill exploration programs for Goldstone Resources and Premier Gold Mines in Abitibi greenstone Belt, Buck Lake, Dobie Lake, and Melba drilling exploration for Rich Copper, Advanced United and Advanced Gold Exploration in Sault Ste Marie and Timmins areas in northern Ontario. Dr. Khan’s teaching includes at University of Iowa as Teaching Assistant and Principal Scientific Officer at COMSATS, Abbottabad Pakistan. Dr. Khan is member of Geological Society of Canada. His geological research, geological mapping, metallogenic modelling, and exploration work has resulted in publications of over a dozen reports, maps and research papers.

Diana Alvarez

Ms. Alvarez is a paralegal with 10 years of experience working in corporate and securities law. Having worked for some of the leading law firms in Vancouver, she is well versed in corporate compliance, governance, and administration of public traded companies. Ms. Alvarez has spent her career focused on resource issuers and has completed her diploma in paralegal studies.
